La Galería Sabrina Amrani participa en la Noche de Galerias Distrito 28004

Sabrina Amrani

Día 27 de junio

On the occasion of the closing of the 2018-2019 season, next Thursday 27th June, the Contemporary Art Galleries in Madrid’s District 28004 offer the first Gallery Night, opening their spaces to the public until 10 p.m.

In its space in Calle Madera 23, Sabrina Amrani proposes the exhibition A rhythm for falling by Alexandra Karakashian.

Karakashian's work stems from her personal and family history and reflects on current issues of exile, migration and refugee-statues. Process and materiality is key to her practice. Employing used engine oil and salt as a medium for painting, she engages in ecological discussion, the threatening instability and subtle collapse; and the unethical seizing of rapidly dwindling natural resources, particularly on the resource-rich African continent. Furthermore she investigates notions of mourning – both of an individual and collective nature – and the lamentation of the loss of land and of those who have been ‘unhomed’. The exhibition will remain on show until 27th July 2019.
