Tate’s Board of fourteen Trustees governs Tate’s four galleries, its programmes and the Tate Collection.

Tate Trustee Position (Closing 8 February 2010)

In the light of Tate’s increasing proportion of self-generated funds and growing commercial activities through Tate Enterprises, we are seeking an individual with senior leadership and management experience in a commercial business environment. Specifically, we seek applicants with experience in the retail, publishing, catering or media sectors. The ideal candidate will have experience of sitting at Board level in a large scale organisation.
Applicants for the role should also have a strong interest in the visual arts, and be willing to advocate on Tate’s behalf.
Board members are expected to dedicate at least two days per month (on a voluntary basis) providing fresh, independent thinking and strategic expertise and advice.
The appointments will be made by the Prime Minister, in consultation with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Tate Trustee Position (Closing 15 February 2010)

We are seeking an individual with extensive experience in the visual arts field, gained through collecting, as an academic, or in a professional capacity. The ideal candidate will also have extensive knowledge of the international art world.
Applicants for the role should also be willing to advocate on Tate’s behalf.
Board members are expected to dedicate at least two days per month (on a voluntary basis) providing fresh, independent thinking and strategic expertise and advice.
The appointment will be made by the Prime Minister, in consultation with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
